We will visit Cornelius for healing before sleeping. We were going to check on the ship anyway.

Harringdon is the most senior cleric left of the White Tower. With Randrum dead, he would be High Priest if he wasn't crazy. I don't know if Heal works on the mentally insane. I think it just heals magical insanity and feeblemindedness. This is correct. Though the scroll with Restoration the party found cures any type of insanity.

Brilliant call, Colby! Let's get Harringdon back and on our side.
Now, in character of course, Fin will suggest that after we bring Friedrich back from the dead, we could use a Heal to cure his dwarven feeblemindedness.

That begs the question: Is there a person other than Trommer who we should resurrect? Maybe the 16th level cleric who made the Restoration scroll. Or a high level paladin? We've got a whole room of bones from Lions of Mitra that may be more powerful than Trommer. We could still use the rod on Trommer the next day if we are successful.
OOC it would of course be better if Lee had a character to play.

DMG: "This rod enables the cleric to resurrect the dead ... as if he or she were of high enough level to cast the spell..." (16th) PHB: "The person can have been dead up to 10 years cumulative per level of the cleric asting the spell" (160) Everyone of any significant level has been dead for too long. Also the High Priest Randrum was turned to ash by the dragon. OOC it would of course be better if Lee had a character to play. Arawn has a whole roster of characters to trade for Trommer.

How many draft picks is Trommer worth?

We've got a lot of loose ends and only a few more days to plan.
We have a dreamstone use, a resurrection rod, a raise dead scroll, 10 commune questions, potentially 12 speak with dead questions (although I think having our lammasu save their 3rd level spells for Prayer, etc is more helpful), and scrying to do.
I'm not sure the dreamstone will help Trommer, because it might just delay Arwan claiming him for the duration of its effect. That's why I lean towards using it to try to temporarily make Poor Harrington sane. If he's an actual "high priest" and not just the highest level priest, he could raise Friedrich without us burning the scroll.
Using the Rod on Trommer seems like a no brainer. Using the raise dead scroll on Friedrich seems good, unless we can heal Harrington.
Commune question ideas: Will using the dreamstone to wish that Trommer is kept unclaimed from Arwan be successful? Will using the dreamstone to restore Harrington to sanity be successful, at least temporarily? Will using the dreamstone for... be successful?
Tightening up the wording is definitely needed.
If Holomir is happy going up to the Dark Tower and using his Dispel Magic to knock out the glyphs, that I don't see a need to ask anything of the dead priests of Set.
The scrying device can check out the interior of the Tower, right after entering the door. We could also try to scry Haffrung, his magic jar, or any of the other villains we've identified.

Only 20% chance of this, once per week, when a Lawful Good character is beseeching Mitra at the statue. The scrying device can check out the interior of the Tower, right after entering the door. "The sphere will allow the viewers to see into 1 - 4 rooms in the dungeon or White Tower (but not in the Tower of Set) or follow 1 living creature for 3 turns. There is a XX% chance that the sphere will show a past occurance in any room or of any creature requested."

"It may be performed successfully by only one character per week." That sounds like multiple people can try until someone is successful. We have enough lawful good people (Paavo, Mary, Dan, Azhbar, and Holomir at least) that the odds are decent.
The scrying device works 1-4 times and allows you to see 1-4 rooms. Is that cumulative, or does that mean if it works 3 times you can see 3 rooms? We should follow the demon, Haffrung, and the person with the Mitra artifact in the rat tunnels. It doesn't seem to track items. Colby will separately use the crystal ball to scry for the Heart of Law.

I wonder instead of going in through the front door if we wouldn't be better off trying to Dimension Door right into the Dark Tower itself. I seem to recall on an earlier thread that was a possibility.

The reason to question the priests of Set is to gain additional information about the defenses of the Dark Tower. Not just the glyphs on the front gate. I think there is time for the 2 lammasu to memorize 2 speak with dead (1.5 hours), question someone twice (26 minutes), sleep (6 hours) and re-memorize (1.5 hours). So no Prayers should be lost.
Does Tirian or the other prisoner know if Aphris had help lugging his father's body into the Dark Tower? I am wondering if anyone (living or dead) other than the priests of Set has been inside of the Dark Tower. They may be better people to ask.
I think dimension dooring into the tower blind is rather risky since we don't know what we would face. With 5 lammasu operating at 7th level, they can transport only 1 other person. That is not much of the party. And I don't think Holomir is willing to risk them that way.
I think scrying is only useful if we are going after Haffrung. But since the next order is the Dark Tower, we should wait. We may want to check on him just before we start the assault. He may choose to attack us while we are moving between the two towers.
I think the Dreamstone could be used to make Harrington temporarily lucid just like it was able to bring Colby back to life temporarily. I don't think we need to use a Commune question on that.
Possible Commune questions: -can the Dreamstone be used to negate the effects of the curse of Arawn in regards to a single resurrection? -would using the Dreamstone to wish that Trommer did not have the curse of Arawn be effective in lowering the chances that Arawn will come to claim Trommer when he is resurrected?
These Commune and Speak with the Dead questions are hard to come up with.
