That I have. Was the slab magical? That may be why Reduce didn't work so a Dispel Magic might take it down for a round to let the Wall of Fire and the hammer work. Otto can work the metal with the hammer and fold in half so it fits is the chest.

Here's how you deal with the mithril slab. You hire a dwarven armorer, take him to Castle Crag and you tell him "break this thing into its components, and produce for us weapons and armor suitable for enchantment." Then we leave, and come back when it's done.
We are Masters, Lords and Wizards, and dealing with such trifles is beneath us.

The flaw there is that Diego will have moved in by then and claimed the slab as lord of the castle. Where is the fun in that?
How about combining a Tenser's Floating Disk and a Telekinisis Spell to move the slab?

Besides he's serving as custodian for our castle. So, the plan involves crossing the river, finding the Boggoblins, killing them, taking our stuff back, and then never mentioning this to anyone. What else does the plan involve? How are we crossing the river? Finding them shouldn't be too difficult. Are they gonna be underwater?? How much water breathing vs. party members is there? We should figure this stuff out sooner as opposed to later.

While Raven and Jasper took turns ineffectively binding each other's wounds and everyone else pursued the boat, Dell and Perrin watched the pit with the orc shaman. The shaman attempted, unsuccessfully, to hold Perrin. At which point Perrin cast Silence on him. Then the shaman started climbing out of the pit, Perrin panicked and Dell decided to throw daggers at it. After a couple rounds of daggers and Perrin hitting it with his mace once, after presumably realizing that as a 5th level fighter equipped in all +4 magical gear he could probably handle a silenced orc, the shaman was dead. We learned some things from the orcs we DID interrogate. The two bands, "Gripgore's raiders" and the water creatures who are led by some horrible, google-eyed fanged monster whose name starts with I think a "J," maybe Jerry, I can't remember, have been collaborating to ambush merchant vessels traveling down the river. "Gripgore's raiders" being loosely directed by Hanuman and this "Jerry" leading the water monsters. I wasn't panicking, I was figuring out where to run arming myself properly with mace and shield. Though it probably would have been better if I had let the shaman come out of the pit and then used subdual damage. And I think the horrible slimy leader of the water creatures is named Coluda.

As far as I can tell, we have Dell's underwater breathing dagger, and that's it. As long as the entrance to their lair is underwater but the lair itself isn't, we should be fine.

The water breathing spell is available, but I'd rather take Fly or Slow. Hell, I'd even take Lightning Bolt over Water Breathing.

Well, that's a great way to freak out Josh. We recovered all the spellbooks, but they got damaged. Since Josh wasn't there, I rolled the saving throws for Pfiffwin's three spellbooks and failed one. On the bright side, at least you weren't dragged underwater by monsters and eaten. Don't worry though, since Al's ring wasn't taken off. He just needs a few days to recover the 400 HP he lost.

Did Otto and Winthrop help recover our stuff? Do you think we get a lot of x.p. for recovering our stuff? If we had just killed some monsters and found similar things in their treasure we would get the full x.p. value. Did they have anything else of worth? What's the plan for next week?

Otto and Winthrop's services were not needed.
Here, more or less, is what happened. We used a water-walking spell to cross the river. Pfiffwin went AWOL, as is his way. We hiked up by the side of the stream, and were attacked by giant lizards. Jasper's charm was not enough, so we had to kill some of them before they were convinced that we were not lunch.
We hiked further and set up camp. On the last watch, we were attacked by giant frogs possessed by either will-o-wisps or wills-o-wisp, I forget what we decided the plural was. We killed the frogs, and hid inside a circle of protection until they lost interest and floated away.
Then we headed for a hut on stilts that we saw in the distance. The animals Jasper talked to said the hut smelled of death, which in retrospect might have been a hint. We met a nice old lady (Mother Gird) who offered us some stew, then glued everyone (that was in the hut) to the floor. Al and Dell were outside, so they bore the brunt of the attacks for a while. Al got killed by some warty hag-beast thing's evil eye (a save vs. poison or die attack) and then another one of them grabbed him and dragged him into their underwater lair. And ate him. Blasting people to death with your eyes makes you hungry.
The leader used some kind of whirlwind device to blow the roof off the hut and do trivial damage to everyone inside... but it blew out one of the walls - coincidentally, the wall with the bookshelf. All the books made saving throws - only a 1 would fail. The leader rolled for the missing gnome, and... one of his spellbooks was lost. We don't know which one yet.
But we recovered all of our stuff, plus some cash and gems and three magical tomes that we are afraid to open.

Pfiffwin was sent invisibly back to Castle Crag while the rest of the party went into the swamp. Let's not forget how the evil leader hag tried to steal the books again while everyone was frolicking in the water and how Antonus defeated her in single combat after she mauled Perrin and Jasper to unconsciousness with Jasper's own halberd...

Also, Mother Gird was so excited about our spell books that she seems to have made duplicate copies of them.

Yes, Antonus dropped most of the books we had recovered and yelled "take the books, just don't hurt me" while flying away. Then he tried to blast the enemy with lightning and magic missiles - most of which were resisted. Jasper ran up to the beast and fumbled, at which point the enemy recovered the halberd and took down Jasper, and then Perrin. Then he got lucky with his paralysis wand, managing to surpass it's resistance and the creature's saving throw. Then Raven came out of the water and hacked it to death.

That sounds considerably less heroic than "defeated her in single combat."

To answer the last part, the plan is to return to Castle Crag to reunite with Otto, Winthrop and Co., and then to undertake Perrin's Holy Quest, as at least some of the party agreed to do after we got our stuff back. We should probably pick up Samantha along the way, since Rose should be back next week.

Karmuk's tower is obviously the next stop. Winthrop viewed it using Clairvoyance and it seems to have been cleared out by our skeleton warrior friend, who's still inside.

That as several days ago. I expect he has left on the next stop on the find Dell world tour. If thr troupe is visiting all our previous locations then the next stop might be the great tree. It is possible that there might be some information left behind at the tower to direct the band to Castle Crag. that might explain the eyes in the sky that have been watching. It might be a good thing for Dell to pull out the circlet so that he goes to the swamp rather than the tree.
