How many heal spells are available? Aren't there some folks pretty beat up? They need to be ready for the fresh water trolls and the really big thing.

Adrienne has only used two spells so far - she's fully loaded otherwise. She should ride the Hippogryph that Raven or Al turns into, so she can heal them both as they fly after the boat.

Just curious if the part in the Fly spell about ascending speed and descending speed is applicable in our game world?
Sure would make it easier to catch that boat.

Is this the plan? Al drinks Raven's potion of polymorph and turns into some type of flying mount. Somebody rides the mount to get to the boats. They jump on the boats and try to smash or fear those on the boats so we can gain control of them.
Those people riding the mount will be Dell and Pfiffwin? Pfiffiwin and Adrienne? Dell and Adrienne?

Whomever the mount is needs to be able to take whatever arrow damage comes. The AC of the mount proabbly won't be as robust as the regular AC.

I don't know how much arrow damage you'll get. You can probably close from outside of arrow range to be in the boat in the same round.

I think Pfiffwin and Adrienne. Dell is going to stay and try to interrogate the shaman.

Pfiffwin's illusion of a wall of ice would be more effective if it looked like Dell was casting it. If Dell is going to hang back them I think Adrienne will need a fly spell in case she and Al need to separate. Pfiffwin would like to borrow Raven's ring of swimming in case he goes overboard.

Dell is going to stay and try to interrogate the shaman. read: "loot the shaman"

Just curious if the part in the Fly spell about ascending speed and descending speed is applicable in our game world? Nope. Fly gives you a 12" movement rate in any direction, not 12" horizontal and/or 24" down and/or 6" up. I've added the spellbooks to the magical holding devices. If Dell can email or message me a list of the precious things he converted, I'll update that as well.

We'll get them, don't worry- Nothing (that moves at a 3" or less) can escape the baleful glare of my Wizard's Eye.

Oh, I'd totally forgotten the "Wizard's Eye." We'll have to change our plan entirely. Or maybe not.
It sounds like Al will drink Raven's potion and Pfiffwin will borrow Raven's ring. Al will carry Adrienne and Pfiffwin, who'll secure the boats. Jasper will run ahead of the boats, perhaps to swim aboard if needed. Perrin, Dell and Raven will stay behind to loot the bodies, interrogate the shaman, and cheer on the team as they charge along.
Is that it?

They will probably try to move the boat and raft to the far side of the river since we have taken out most of the troops on this side. Maybe Dell or Perrin should cross the river to give support if needed. Perrin should have water walking for awhile and Dell should have a fly at his disposal. That would leave Raven and Perrin to guard the shaman that they can dig up with the wand.

Antonus is imbued with flight and pursuing the enemy invisibly. If the boats are somehow apprehended he will assist with spells. Perrin should expend his remaining spells healing Jasper and Raven. Jasper being unconscious and Raven being.. nearly unconscious?

Raven has 7 hit points (IIRC), which is not good. But it's not catastrophic either. How long does water walk last?

How long does water walk last? From Adrienne, it lasts 80 turns... it's a turn per level, plus one.

So, if he's feeling tough, Perrin can just run down the river chasing after the boats until they go ashore.

Here’s Winthrop’s plan while he waits:
While waiting Winthrop with Hugh’s assistance will do some more Clairvoyance spells on Karmuck’s tower as time permits and saves.
The intent is to first look at the floors from the bottom up. Trying to save the floors where the Magic Users/Clerics for last.
Hugh will casting the following spells before the Clairvoyance spell:
Divination on the tower. (68% chance for Strength of creatures, treasure) Augury on doing clairvoyance on the tower (Weal or Woe) Protection from Evil +2 save Prayer +1 save Tritheron’s Mark +3 vs. mind affecting spells Remove Fear +4 vs. Fear Cloak of Bravery +3 vs. fear Hide Individual (Reverse of Locate Individual) on Winthrop (I have no idea if it will help but it sounds good.) Spell Immunity vs. Glyphs of Warding Chant +1 save
Winthrop will then cast:: Polymorph Self and make himself look like San. (3 hours 40 minutes) Tongues so he can understand anything said. (11 rounds) Clairaudience to hear (11 rounds) Ultravision in case it is dark (8 hours) Hold on the Luck Stone Clairvoyance (11 rounds)
Then scout the tower.
Do you see any flaws? Overkill? Would Minor Globe prevent help?

Sounds like a good plan.
I thought San was an illusionist in which case they would never believe that he is using clairvoyance if they detected it. Besides I figured Dell would be your first choice for disguise. Or maybe the Silent One.

I didn't want them to know is was our party that was checking up on them. Good point on the illusionist aspect. Perhaps looking like Racoba or Martin Myrick would be better.

Not unless you hold up a note saying that you (as San) have "dual-classed." Oh oh, while you're at it, mock up a dragon egg to hold so they think you have powerful dragon allies.

Can anyone give me a rundown of last week's session? Where are we going? How did we lose our boat?

We spent a long time taking care of various things in Hochoch, Longspear and the Great Tree. Eventually we decided to all return to Castle Crag. Winthrop teleported back with Hugh and the raised Griszela. Otto left with Eats Salmon, Cyfaile and Giuseppe taking the long way around the forest. From Hochoch everyone piled into the long boat and headed back down the Javan. After several days of smooth sailing we were beset by orcs on both sides of the river. They had a chain across the river that they used to stop the boat and lots of underwater allies - marine gargoyles, trolls and bog goblins. Eventually everyone made it to one side of the river where we took out most of the orcs including a shaman. However in our haste to get to the side of the river we left everything on board the boat. Orcs from the other side of the river have commandeered the boat and are now headed down the river.

We chased the orcs to their hideout and killed them all, recovering our non-essential equipment, some gold and a few magical trifles of negligible worth. The bog goblins took our valuable stuff to their underwater lair. Jasper can speak with the aquatic wildlife and find out where that is. And there has to be some useful cleric spell that can help... Who knows how far into the marsh they'll disburse our stuff in the week(s) it'll take us to get to Castle Crag and back. People, we can do this.

If we can pass on Perrin's "Holy Quest" we can wait a week to get the full party together. There were at least five trolls and we knwo there will be some sort of swamp semi-giant kind there. That means we need Otto.

What an exciting week to miss. We killed a bunch of regular orcs and the treasure we recovered was non-valuable stuff we already had!

I have no idea when they had time to go through everyones backpacks and take only valuable items. Tony was following them from above and didn't see them going through the bags. Then they go into a smoke bank for a minute. When they come out everything has been divided. I know if we ever tried a maneuver like that we would never have had the time. Also shouldn't they have triggered all of Dell's anti-theft magic - sepia sigil snakes, magic mouths, explosive runes?

Did you have time to check everything that we recovered? What's still missing?

With all the fleeing, preparation and chasing they must have had 10 to 20 minutes to pull stuff out with a detect magic. I believe the sepia sigil won't go off until someone opens the spell book or reads the explosive rune.
It should also be pointed out for those not there that we had another successful assasination performed against the party. It was a well executed surprise attack not in the fact the attacker wasn't seen but in the case that it worked. Dell saw his potentitial henchman pass right before his eyes as he was garroted.
