Does anyone else think it is a good idea to try using? I've been waiting for the right moment. Hasn't happened yet.

We are close. I think the missing accessory is an evil rod of some sort. The Dell can put on the circlet, amulet and wield the rod at the same time so something really interesting will happen. We could always go pick up the amulet we left at the mumotonden place. That might be a missing piece to complte the emsemble.

In addition to using Endure Heat/Cold preemptively we should consider what other spells to have available for certain situations.
I was wondering what 4th level spells Cedrus has memorized. Is Spell Immunity one of them? This would be a nice spell to have ready in case we come across another high level magic user. The last couple of times we have fought one they have had Fire Shield and Protection from Normal Missiles up which makes it hard for the fighters to get at them via either melee or distance weapons as well as Minor Globe which nullifies much of what the spell casters can do to them. If Cedrus cast Spell Immunity for Fire Shield on one of the figthers, then they could close on the caster (with Dimension Door or charge) and then hack away without killing themselves.
I am not sure if there are Drow at this point in the Giant Series but we might want to keep an extra Light spell ready just in case. Bright lights make them fight worse and lowers their dexterity. The Continual Light stones will be helpful but being able to cast Light at a distance could be useful. Winthrop - whatever happened to the stone of Pelor?
What other tactical preparations should we make?

Ah , the Gem of Pellor Power. It is residing at The Temple of Pellor in Seaton. We haven't made it back there to be able to pick it up.

I think the most helpful thing will be identifying what type of enemies we'll be fighting. It seems like we need a different spell load for giants, humanoids or undead. Are we thinking it'll mainly be a stronghold full of frost giants? A few frost giants with humanoid henchmen? Or evil priests which have moved into the area?

Cedrus normally memorizes two Protection from Evil 10' radius prayers as his fourth level spells, and generally converts them into Cure Serious Wounds. He's happy to cast spell immunity instead. He just needs to be told.

We should have had Jasper pick up when he went for training after the first visit to the giant steading. Any chance he picked it up but forgot to tell anyone? He isn't the brightest of guys.

I think the chance he picked it up and forgot to tell anyone should be the same percentage chance that he picked it up and lost it in the intervening months.

When we make it to the glacier Otto will switch the two Entangle spells he usually memorizes for one Faerie Fire and one Detect Snares and Pits. His other spells are Invisibility to Animals, Spider Climb and Feather Fall.
