If I recall correctly, the Church of Pelor is very opposed to Nerul worship...
Now, what kind of reward do you think a man who led his mercenary band on a mission to destroy a temple full of undead and evil Nerulites would deserve, eh?
I think he'd deserve a Restoration spell. The only question is, is there a 16th level priest of Pelor available to cast the thing?

That would be nice. I certainly wouldn't object. However they may just say that our destroying the temple was an appropriate atonment for all the trouble we have vaused them.

Are you kidding? Do you remember the fuss that they made over the artifacts that Ross brought in? And that was just an old abandoned temple. This one has live people in it, and we've even got their high priest as a prisoner. They hate Nerul more than you hate San. I figure that after we're done clearing out the temple, we send someone back to get the cart, so we can carry off all the weapons, armor, prisoners, and other assorted treasures that we salvage. After that, we take the prisoners in to the temple of Pelor, and earn their incredible gratitude. We tell them where the temple is, and they go and pour holy water all over the altar and burn the place down, and then the Pelorites love the Company of the Blue Sun forever and have a big party for us.

Oh, don't get me wrong I didn't mean that we turn every over to Pellor. I fully intend that we should fully clean the place out (just being careful not to open any barred doors with Wights behind them.) I meant after we finish taking care of business we go get Pellor.

Aside from the level drain, which totally sucked, fighting the undead seemed to have an excellent risk/reward balance. It'll get us a lot of praise from the Pelorites, a lot of cash, and magical weapons/armor (hopefully). As far as the fighting goes, our tactics were extremely poor, and we didn't have any serious problems. Garvin almost went down and Al went down twice. If we were using a tighter formation, things could have gone a lot better.
So my vote is to postpone the slavers and the dwarven expedition and go on a crusade. If we can get a priest of Pelor or two to accompany us, we'll be a very formidible force.

You're right, our tactics sucked ass.
What would have been best is if Dell had gone in and done some invisible scouting. His move silent is at 80% now, so he should be pretty damn quiet. He could have gone in and checked things out ahead of time. He even could have wizard-locked a door, to keep the reinforcements from showing up so soon, or keep the bad guys from running away. He could have put some of those punk acolytes to sleep so they couldn't sound the alarm. Well, he didn't memorize sleep because he was expecting undead, but you know what I mean - he had lots of options.
Dell needs to do more scouting, since he's essentially worthless in a standup fight.
