Yay!, I have the first post!
My first post will say... that the old message board seems to work again.
Winthrop - are there any spells we want to buy from the wizard guy while we're in town? I was thinking invisibility would be great, since we don't have the ring of invisibility anymore. Haste would be a damn fine choice as well - it would essentially be game over for any opponent at that point - or, we could run away very quickly.
Also... werewolves??? Why are we fighting werewolves? Can't we go out and beat up on some more orcs or something? Or at least fight something with some $%#%$ money?

As of 9:50 tonight, the old bulletin board is back down again, at least from my computer. I haven't been impressed with myikonboards and I am finding this interface here to be decent. If the old board lives again, we can vote on which system to use.

Hmm...spells. A no brainer is Detect Magic. That would be most helpful. Invisibility is a good one. Haste while excellent has some serious side effects...like aging as I remember. I will have to think on this more.

Hmm...spells. A no brainer is Detect Magic. That would be most helpful. Invisibility is a good one. Haste while excellent has some serious side effects...like aging as I remember. I will have to think on this more. If we have a priest along, they can always do a detect magic - yeah, that kinda screwed us this time, but given that it's 400 gold just to get a 1st level spell into your spellbook, I think it'd be best to hold off on that. And haste - well, you would mostly be casting it on the fighters, correct? Who cares if they die of old age? By then, you can have them reincarnated! Then again, you could get Slow and use it on the enemies - that might be even better, as they wouldn't be able to run away as quickly, either. You could get Invisibility 10' Radius - you could cast it on the whole party every morning. Yeah, that would be pretty annoying... We need a less destructive spell than Fireball to deal with large groups - I don't know what that would be, though. Any suggestions?

Flame Arrow: Would make my arrows do 10-20 damage per hit, as long as Winthrop was standing next to me enchanting them. It would also make them able to penetrate "Protection from Normal Missiles."
Protection from Normal Missiles: Obviously useful.
Invisibility/Invisibility 10': Obviously useful for sneaking.
Detect Invisibility: Useful against San, Elise, Dred or Siggurd, all of which we've seen turn invisible.
Detect Illusions: Duh.
Haste: 4 arrows per round?!? 6 axe hits every two rounds? That would rock. Dana said that we wouldn't factor in aging, but that might just apply to non-magical aging. And just wait until Serrin gets back. Think of how fast he'll run away!
Lightening bold: Duh.
I don't think detect magic is that great, because we shouldn't waste our cash duplicating cleric spells.

A magic user without the ability to cast Detect Magic? We need it just to be respectable. Besides I haven't been able to check the locations of teh Nerull hot spots since we all died. I don't want to ask one of our Clerics-for-Hire to do it.
