I have a question:
What was the Greyhawk calendar date when Company started their first adventure? I figure it was sometime in GY564 or maybe GY563. Also what is the current calendar date? That might be something to occasionally mention in the narrative to show how long we have been going and when people joined.

I've thrown together a little webpage with my calendars on them. The calendars are located at dead.greyhawk.googlepages.com/calendar. I haven't updated the most recent one, but the earlier adventures are blocked out on them. Of course, the time in the campaign log doesn't match up perfect, but who is?

I think we should randomly assign birthdays for all the PCs and NPCs.

Fine with me. I think the original PCs rolled birthdays. I may still have the sheet of paper somewhere, if I haven't tossed it out.
I'm glad the calendar is a hit.

Have we decided what we are doing? It would be good to figure out how to activate the gate from this side before we leave this area. We should make sure we keep a clear path back to the gate in case we need to retreat.
Al should blow the iron horn and then send his berserkers in the opposite direction we go so as to create a distraction. Or use them to soften up whoever they send against us next. The horn is no use in the Demon-Web so now is as good as any time to use it.

I presume the egg of Lolth will activate the gate from this side. Isn't that what we were told it did? DM Question: Did the people in the 4th group to come through the gate notice if it was shrinking at all as people headed through?

I presume the egg of Lolth will activate the gate from this side. When you presume, you make... well, you shouldn't presume stuff.

The horn is no use in the Demon-Web so now is as good as any time to use it. We could search this whole place, expend all our spells/hit points and turn up nothing- then, so depleted, be forced to retreat back through the gate into the Abyss. The Great Druid could be anywhere. Blasted non-linear RPGs! Who's got that ring? "I wish the Great Druid was here..."

"I wish we were back through the gate in the Demon Web Pits where we entered here, sealing the gate behind us in the process."
For some reason Raven was thinking "ogre storeroom."
After a couple minutes spent recouping, we scouted.
Ogres were heard down the hall. The stupid "Ogre-Plan" was enacted.
Clift, Raven and Dell- the latter two polymorphed into ogres- went to investigate. Unable to communicate with the roomful of ogres they initiated combat. 40 ogres, 4 ettins, 2 trolls, a glabrezu demon* and 6 hours later the session ended.
Jasper died. Perrin is at "death's door."
We used a neutralize poison, a prayer, a death's door, many converted cure light/serious spells, a hold monster, some magic missiles, a Melf's acid arrow, a fireball, a stinking cloud, two slows and a couple lightstones. The magic ewer heals 2d4+2.
We are location unknown in the "Demon Web Pits."

So no exploration of the caves after the mass killing of giant-kind?

So no exploration of the caves after the mass killing of giant-kind? One ogre fled, gravely injured. We followed it down the hall to the fork Perrin discovered. It took the right branch to a brazier-lit cavern, similar to the first. This one with ettins.

Jasper, Otto, and Raven chased after the gravely injured ogre. Al chased after the three of them. The passage forked, one leading into a partly webbed passage, the other towards more firelight. The three of them ran into the fire-lit room, which had two braziers, a number of furs and damaged furniture in it, and no creatures. Jasper went to listen for sound, since there are two exits from the room. Otto was asked to and therefore searched for tracks. Jasper heard the sound of running feet from the left passage. Otto noted the disturbed webbing, but no tracks, likely because of the floor material.
The bad guys won initiative and steam-rollered Jasper. The ogres charged up to Raven and Otto, while Jasper got surrounded by three of the four ettins. Jasper was pulped.
The rest of the Company chased after the others, who were getting pounded, and the huge spider-demon attacked from the other fork of the passage. Perrin went down to negative five, but was kept alive. Grizela pounded on the spider-demon, and Hugh and Cedrus healed her as she took damage. The spider-demon healed itself through polymorphing and failed to successfully gate a couple of times. It teleported away.
The current room has two exits from it. The ogres (including the injured one) and the ettins came from one exit. Nothing has stirred from the other exit.

The ettins were brutal. 10 HD, one attack that does 3d6 damage and another that does 2d8. If Dell hadn't slowed them we would have been in big trouble. They had 65 HP or so, and could take a full round of damage from Otto.

The following should be saved for posterity: Clift was right next to Perrin when Perrin went down. In order to maintain his cover, Clift bent over Perrin and pretended to eat him, but was actually binding his wounds to stop the bleeding.

It took two rounds, and we'll need to roll for disease because of all the slobbering!

So as I understand it:
Cedrus, Otto, Pfiffwin (charmed), Al, Hugh, Winthrop, Perrin and Grizela planeshifted.
Leaving Adrienne, Dell, Clift (unconscious) Raven (3 HP), Adler, Jasper (deceased), Antonus (4 HP, charmed), Florin (unconscious) and Fleabeard surrounded by demons.
If we win the all-critical initiative then Adrienne can planeshift us out. If we lose, the yochlols will stinking cloud us all and the vrocks will tear us to shreds.

Don't forget the bone statuette of woe. And it would be great if someone picked up the giant slayer before you planeshifted out.

I see where Flopear's value added is going to come from! :D
As I remember the room, Dell, Antonus, Raven, and Adrienne are all bunched together, near the BSoW. Florin and then Clift are spread out along one axis, and Adler and Jasper are in a group on a different axis. Flopear is furthest away, on a vector bisecting the axes established by the others.

So, if we win initiative, everyone runs to Clift, those who speak gnoll shout to Flopear, and Adrienne planeshifts us out. If we lose initiative, I get to play Cedrus once we all die.

We're surrounded by demons... Jasper is dead, Florin is unconscious, Clift is unconscious. They are scattered about the room. We have to reach all three of them. Can the bone beast scoop them up with its expansive movement rate? We cannot leave somebody behind down here. If we do, immediately upon planeshifting, you'll have to try to use the remaining Wish to bring them back to us.

The idea is that everyone will have a half-action and run to Adrienne. Those half actions will be "grab a body" for Adler and Antonus and "grab a sword" for Raven, Dell or Flopear. Let's hope that Clift and the sword are close enough that we can put a hand on each while we planeshift.

Or maybe into a squid, and grab everyone.
