AKA "That other thread is too long" So, after we all meet at the former Castle Crag, what are we gonna do? Training Dell and Perrin are the main pieces of bookkeeping we need to handle. After that, then what? We still have: 1. Rescue Gorna -- Oaklock has word that Gorna stands and could probably use the Company's aid and assistance. Done. 2. Rescue Loftwick -- Otto's countrymen battle a vile menace. The Company could assist. 3. Slay Groorg -- The Mountain King awaits! 4. Find Snurre -- Snurre's lair is in the Hellfurnaces, but where? 5. Take the March Lord -- Petros Mortimer plots against the Scottis. Teach him a lesson? 6. What of Martek -- The name Martek continues to appear, who or what is he and where is his wealth? 7. The Fall of Flen -- A mass army of undead heads for Flen. Can Stalman Klim be found before the army arrives?8. The Rise of the Lizardmen -- What evils bedevil the friendly lizardmen? 9. The Deep Dark -- The Hole beckons on. Chase down the Black Swan into the depths? 10. The Lost Druid -- Where oh where has the little druid gone, oh where oh where can he be? 11. Kay-Tarn's Foul Pit -- An undead-spawning thing occupies the west of Sterich. The Company knows the rough location. Would destroying it be a well-struck blow? 12. The Black Spheres -- The leaders of the civilized nations have been targeted for magical confinement in black spheres. Can the Company free them? 13. Piracy on the High Seas -- Raiders are striking along the southern coast of Keoland. Is this part of a greater plot? 14. The Mystery of the Nyr Dyv -- What things lurk in its depths? 15. The Hand of Vecna -- Cathmandius and his band have the Hand of Vecna. Is your sometime ally, sometime enemy trustworthy enough to keep possession of it? 16. The Treasure Map -- Winthrop has a map leading into the mountains of Perrenland. Perhaps leaving the mess that the Sheldomar Valley has become is the best thing to do? 17. The Silent One -- The Silent One has holed up in his tower. Is he alive or dead? Add to that list: Karmuk's tower, Dell's friend, Holy Quest, monster outside of Hochoch, the Naga in the swamp that has Al's throwing axe and Raven's allegiance, and... I can't think of anything else. Oh, the ice elves. I wonder what's next.

Since we are in the swamp we should track down the Naga and get Al's axe. That way he might feel a little better when he awakes and waits for his legs to grow back.

Since when do we do what Al wants to do?
I vote for killing Groorg. He's in the Jotens, and we're going there anyway to look for the druid.

Antonus will most likely need to be trained as well. He should have reached 7th level by the time we get back to Castle Crag.

7th level, eh? That lets you write scrolls. Prepare to be responsible for making all the Mend scrolls.

Well, it only makes sense if we have a direction to go looking. It is a big swamp after all.
Though if you do then Winthrop & Co. will have time to take a trip to Seaton after he melts the slab and pick up a gem and go on another shopping trip for stuff.

So how many extra days do Otto and Wintrhop have to do stuff until Pffifwin arrives? I suppose that Hugh can have been training Grizela in Binding Wounds.

Well, it only makes sense if we have a direction to go looking. It is a big swamp after all. Yeah, worst idea ever. I'm not going traipsing off into the swamp. Add the spaceship CHARIOT OF THE GODS to that list. *Which is conveniently near Perrin's holy quest and the Valley of the Mage.

So... In the short term, we're heading to Castle Crago (I think that's a good combination of Crag and Hidalgo). There we'll wait until the whole company is reunited again. Once that happens, we'll scope out the tower. If it looks unoccupied or lightly occupied, we'll head down there
Next, we're heading for the Jotens to rescue the Great Druid. We'll swing south again to get Perrin trained somewhere in the Yeomanry. While there we'll resupply and head to the Temple of Tharizdun and King Groorg. Once he's taken care of, we'll finish off the fire giants in the Hellfurnaces. From there, it's through the Hole to Martek, since Dell is afraid of the Underdark. That's a years worth of stuff right there.

Wouldn't it be funny that once we find someone to train Perrin in the Yeomanry that it is denied because he hasn't completed his holy quest?
We should track down the Bergheim mercenaries because we know they have some cool stuff and might know about the great druid. They seemed powerful enough to have taken him captive. Then we need to go get the other evil amulet we left behind.

1. If Perrin's training can't be completed without undergoing a holy quest, then we'll go on the holy quest when that's determined. Otherwise it's a low priority mission that's not essential to the metaplot, with unknown opposition and limited looting opportunity.
2. There's no need to follow the Bergheim mercenaries. You're free to scry on them every so often, but I'm sure that if we keep doing what we're doing, we'll encounter them again.
3. Collecting evil items is Dell's thing. He's not happy unless he's afraid to use half his magic items.

Oh I agree with the training thing. I just thought it would be funny if that is the result.
Ah, I see so you are going to wait until you can cast Teleport yourself. Then you will "borrow" the luck stone and go retrieve the amulet yourself. That shouds like a plan.
So can two mages be trained by the same mage at the same time? I can double up on my fees that way.

You'd like that wouldn't you? Unfortunately, Dell will only be able to cast one fifth level spell.... and he doesn't plan on spending the night there. So that's gonna be a company trip. Call it an unholy quest. So can two mages be trained by the same mage at the same time? I can double up on my fees that way. Fees? Since when are you getting paid?

I can write you a scroll.
Yes indeed. This is the last chance (unless you get another Wish) that I can recoup lost revenue (unless a fully functional Foebiter appears). I've noticed that you don't really appreciate something unless you pay for it (druid scrolls) or steal it (helmet). So the cost of your training just reflects how special it is that your Wish was granted and that you get more powerful and fancy things.

After our most recent adventure, it's likely that all of our magical ink will be used for writing spells in spellbooks.

I have 14 inks left so I could manage it.

Oh, no Cedrus still has some and who knows what's in your box.
I accept IOU's against future earnings. After all I had to repay my training debt in the recent past. I may give a minor discount for the dancing boots. Though it does sound like you know that there isn't another wish on that ring.

Though it does sound like you know that there isn't another wish on that ring. If you want to waste a wish on Foebiter, you go ahead and do it. But I'm not going to waste the most powerful magic there is to retrieve a sharp hunk of metal, no matter how puissant a blade it might be. Especially if it doesn't work for Lawful Neutral Thief/Magic-Users.

What are you waiting for? Why haven't you fixed Foebiter yet? You have the ring and the sword and weeks to wait for the rest of the company to return. Shouldn't something as simple as "I wish Foebiter had not been destroyed by the breath of the winter wolves" do the trick? From week 82 the wording of the wish we used to raise Raven was "I wish Ehlonna had granted Raven the possibility of new life!" This seems like a very similar altering of reality.

Well, sword pieces, anyway. And with a few more experience points, Winthrop will be 12th level and able to fix it himself, maybe.

I'm up for an unholy quest. The Silent one did promise to trade some pretty nifty spells for the amulet.
No time like present to collect fees. It is becoming much more expensive to be a mage these days. Especially if I start to write some scrolls for the party.

You should really use the Wish to fix Foebiter. Seems only fair considering how selfishly the last Wish was used. Are we going to identify these magical books before we get back to Castle Crag? Antonus can't use his spellbooks until it's established which books are which.

Although, I fully suggest that you try to wish your magic-user level cap out of existence. I was just following our leader's orders. Are we going to identify these magical books before we get back to Castle Crag? No. the risks are too high to... risk.

I think he used a Wish to reverse the effects of the helmet without penalty. That would explain a lot.

Regardless. Foebiter is extremely useful and awesome.
It should be fixed. That is a good use of a Wish.
And can we then at least determine which books are which with Locate Object or something?
