Who to kill? I vote for Dred.
He has the best treasure: ioun stones. The green one gives an extra level. The red one raises dex.

Here's what I'm thinking:
We go to the capital of Keoland to see the head Pelorite priest about getting Al raised. It shouldn't be too hard to convince the High Priest, because we used to hang with Ross, and we've all fought Nerullites and undead repeatedly. Have him use Cedrus' scroll of Ressurection to do so. It will be tricky to get Cedrus to give it up, but not impossible. Worst case scenario, Dell will steal it from him.
As far as payment for services... Al has 3784 gold, as well as a magical mace. Since we'd be providing the scroll, the priest doesn't have to worry about aging 3 years when he casts the spell or anything... so we should get off fairly cheaply on this one.
Of course, odds are that in exchange, he'll want us to perform a service for the church...

We should find out how to help Raven find his Knighthood buddies. That should involve a number of services that he will need to perform as well.
I'm sure the Pellorites will have forgotten about us leaving their men in the temple by now...

No, I'm sure that the only thing I'll blab about is being posessed by Nerull.

We still haven't distributed the remaining items from the Fortunate Son. What do we have?
-2 potions of waterbreathing -2 potions of shark (undead?) protection -2 maps -2 books of spells -a potion of water elemental protection -a magic scalpel -the fragment of Necton -the lectern -foebreaker -dagger of waterbreathing -Cedrus's ring
Anything else? We should give Jerry and Cash something before they depart. There are 15 items here and there were 6 people who went to the temple. Here is a suggested breakout
Withrop - foebreaker, lectern, necton Cedrus - ring, potion of protection from elementals Raven - dagger of water breathing, book of spells, potion of shark protection Otto - scalpel, book of spells, potion of shark protection Jerry - potion of water breathing, map Cash - potion of water breathing, map
We can sell, trade or even give away items that we can't use to those who might want them. Winthrop is getting the biggest share so the next time around we should adjust things. I am sure Jerry and Cash would sell the maps for a reasonable amount if someone wanted to purchase them.

I'd rather see our guys keep the maps, but that's something for the leader to decide.

Well we now have 20,000 in gold from Lord Morgan. How much do think Cash and Jerry would take in exchange for the maps? I cannot carry that much gold around with me so I am happy to use my share of the funds to purchase the maps or if there are company funds we can use. Also if anyone has gems they would like to sell so I can concentrate my wealth.
DM - Is there a jeweler in Grange willing to convert the gold into a range of gems? Can Anson facilitate any sort of exchange?

Cedrus' ring doesn't need to be distributed. He's happy to keep it.
In other news, hi everybody. Just wanted to let you know I made it to Toronto no problems. On Sunday, I spent a few hours thanking Ehlonna that customs didn't even look in our truck (not that we had anything to hide, but it was nice not to have to unpack anything).
Enjoy.

Well we now have 20,000 in gold from Lord Morgan. We got paid a ton of gold - literally. How cool is that? Anyway, here's how I think that should get split: Al: 1500 Cedrus: 2000 Dell: 2000 Diego: 1500 Jasper: 1000 Max: 1000 Otto: 2000 Pavel: 1500 Raven: 2000 Winthrop: 2000 The remainder goes into the company fund. From that fund, Raven is reimbursed for his company expenses (350 gp?), as is Dell (2000 gp). That leaves 1150 for the company fund, added to the 275 that's already there.

If so should this be considered a debt for the company or Cedrus? I thought in general training was covered by the individual. I don't really care since I already have more than I can spend but I think we should be fair in how company funds are spent.

Cedrus already repaid me for that. This 2000 is from the purchase of pearls to identify magical items with, plus the "gifts" for the priest and the Admiral back on that island. Now that I've ceded the leadership role to Raven, I'll be managing the company's finances - so hang on to your receipts, please.

Looking at the map I would guess the fastest way to Niole'Dra would be up the coast to Gradsul and then a boat up the Sheldomar River. Of course that way would miss dropping by Longspear but we could always do that after getting Al raised. Another option would be to cut straight through the Dredwood and proceed across the plains. Maybe a little slower but we do avoid water and there might be more humanoids to fight. I would enjoy fighting some nice easy humanoids and it would be a good way for Winthrop to practice melee combat with Foebreaker.

We should probably go by land, but not plow right through the Dreadwood. Let's try to skirt the forest.

So you want to go around the east side of the forrest and skip Longspear for now?

Probably. Let's try to avoid war zones while lugging a corpse.

He is snuggly packed in a barrel isn't he? Does this mean we are going to need another cart? You know how it rankles my ranger sensitivities to have to cart around anything you cannot carry.
Also maybe we could ask for a permit from Lord Morgan allowing us to avoid conscription. Some sort of free pass for previous services rendered.

Don't forget that Jasper loves to carry heavy burdens. I'm sure that he will be happy to carry Al in his barrel.

I would rather avoid killing people if possible. There is that whole good alignment thing. Not to mention the bad wrap we would get. I suppose Winthrop and Dell could just web the bunch of them. But then you have to worry about them coming back with more people or a bunch of archers or their own magc user. I would like to avoid these simple misunderstanding if possible.

I think Lord Morgan would have already drafted us if that was his intention. He probably knows enough about us already to know that we will get in enough trouble anyway to his Keoland's benefit. We don't deal with simple imisunderstandings anyway. Ours are major ones. If we did happend to get drafted I would expect that Raven would be put in charge of an army anyway. That would only help his reputation as a member of the Order of the Heart. It would be expect as such of a member that he would volunteer for such duty and not avoid being drafted in this time of unrest.

I agree with all of that. I am just worried about when we leave his fiefdom. North of the Dredwood we could anybody. But if we have a piece paper with Lord Morgan's seal on it, it might carry a little more weight with the locals.

I'm not saying that we would kill people who tried to mess with us, I'm just saying that the mere fact that we could will keep people from drafting us.
