How good of an assumption is this? I thought that bringing a cart up here to haul a table, chairs, rugs and tapestries might be too difficult. Many people would agree with you that it would be too difficult. There is no clear road. The Company and the Pelorites arrived here by traveling over hills and through small paths. On the other hand, I've known Dell and Winthrop to suddenly whip up a magical mule train, so I am merely presenting you with the valuable goods total. You can discuss whether you might need to leave something behind or not count it as "treasure" because it can't be transported. I also thought it important to show the breakdown of the goods, since taking your share in furniture might be significantly harder to transport than your share in gold coins (although that is mighty heavy itself).

Okay, here's the re-revised splitation document.
First, we'll leave the furniture here - it will be too hard to carry the furniture and still make it to Loftwick in time to save Al. Then, we have to deduct the cost of raising Al before the split is made - otherwise, we get screwed. The furniture was valued at 6000, and Al's raising is probably going to be around 6000. That leaves us with a total of 13,425. Split ten ways, that's 1,342.5 - this total doesn't include the magic items, it's strictly cash. That will be the split for next week.
Now, the Pelorites say they'll accept the amulets and ancient evil bowls and implements of human sacrifice as most of their share of the magic items, so we don't have to worry about them quite as much as the rest of the party. I think we can give them the two clerical scrolls and be done with them. They'll enjoy taking those back to the
According to what I see on the DM's list, if you take away the scrolls we have 9 magical items and 7 potions to divide among 7 people. That's a potion for everyone, and an item for everyone. Raven and Winthrop are the two oldest and most powerful members, so they get two items each, and we're done.
As far as our next course of action - we all need to leave together. If we were working for the Pelorites (as I thought) then we would need to stay while they purified the place. But that's not the case, so we can leave them here to do their purifying thing. Then, we go, get Al raised, come back to the temple and get the furniture and other valuables, and then go home to the Hall of the Blue Sun and take our much discussed but not yet taken vacation.
We can discuss with the Pelorites whether they'd rather stay in the de-eviled temple for three weeks until we come back, or follow us to Loftwick when they finish. Otto can even leave special little Ranger marks in the woods so they know which way we went, where we camped, etc.
Anyone disagree with this?

A good plan. I have an unrelated question. Did the first priest only have a magical shield but no magical armor?

Did the first priest only have a magical shield but no magical armor? Apparently so. His platemail armor (black with red trim and a raised symbol to Nerull in black on the brestplate) does not, according to Winthrop (who indicated that he was memorizing Detect Magic) is not magical.

Identification issues
We have 15 items that need to be identified. 7 of them are potions, which we may be able to identify by taste test, or by alchemist.
That leaves 8 of them to be identified via the spell, which requires pearls. The mace, shields, and armor are low priority for that, which leaves the cloak clasp, the robe, the gloves, and the ring. Now, who buys the pearls to have things identified with? It'd be unfair for the mages to bear that cost on their own, so as I see it we have a couple of options:
1. We can split the items up before identification, and everyone has to pay to get their own items identified.
2. We can take the cost of identifying items out of the treasure before we split it up.
3. We can use the company fund for the identification of items now, since we still have money in that account.
Option 1 is my personal favorite, because some items need a lot more identification than others - ones with multiple functions, or activation words. So if you have a more powerful item, you have to pay more to figure out how it works.

I almost forgot - is there anything down in the pit under the bridge where the wraiths were? I assume we lowered someone down with a rope (probably Dell) to check that place out.

Don't think of it as company funds, think of it as a lottery fee. Everyone who adventured with us and deserves a pick pays to have each item identified once. After that, we should have a general notion for what each thing does, and those with more complex items can pay for more peals to give the casters, or pay a professional.
A thought: As the identification spell gives the caster images of what the item was used for in the past to elucidate its function, perhaps casting it on the cloak (which was likely used in creating the gate) could help us close the portal.

A big issue is, how long will it take us to get 8 pearls? It was hard enough to find them when we were in a city that was on the ocean. Also, Frank is likely to say "What's to identify? It's a shield - I know what a shield is."
Also, there will probably be less fighting among the party if they aren't identified first. If someone ends up with an item they can't use, we can readjust, just like we're (probably) doing with the serpent staff and pearl of wisdom.
Also, I think it'd be funny if someone wasted their pick on a cursed or useless item, but that's just me.

Perhaps someone could ask the dead priests about the gate? If the Garvin and Lloyd both cast speak with dead, and the other priest cast combine along with them, that gives us 6 questions per corpse. Additionally, since both of them have been mutilated, we can use the flesh golem building tools to stitch their heads back on!

inlay from the major temple, which would require some number of man-hours to pry out from the stonework. Can we get a ball park figure on the number of man hours involved and the value of the gems and such we can pry off?

Can we get a ball park figure on the number of man hours involved and the value of the gems and such we can pry off? We'll deal with that on our way back. That's the trip where we'll get the furniture, all the inlay and ornament we can scrape up, the flesh golems (the Silent one might pay us something for the parts) and... well, you know, all sorts of good stuff. Also, can the priests (or Winthrop - preferrably Winthrop actually, since he's of higher level) drop a couple of dispel magics on the "statues" to see if they're under a spell that can be countered?

Do we still think that the Medusa lived here? I would find it surprised given how well set up the place is for Nerullites. Besides I don't have teh dispel magic spell.

I don't know who or what turned them to stone - I don't even know if dispel magic would work. Still, I think it's worth a shot. And the wizard version of Dispel Magic is in Dell's spellbook.

Can we get a ball park figure on the number of man hours involved and the value of the gems and such we can pry off? There are no gems. As Raven barely recalls, there is silver metal inlay in the marble and some lanterns shedding purple light above. He has not entered the temple since, for fear of possession. A reasonable estimate of the time involved in extracting the precious metal is 500 man hours. The worth would be some thousands of GP. W/R/T dropping people into unexplored areas, that hasn't happened. Remember the time frame, your hirelings are demanding their pay and leaving you because of your actions. They are offering to do your job for you (the carrying of Al's corpse to a temple in the hopes of getting him raised). The efforts you as a group have undertaken to compile a list and estimate of valuables, determine their magic and evil, respectively, have taken up much of the time. W/R/T the throne room, upon entering that room, a series of glyphs written in old Suel are also inscribed on the block of stone that sinks into the floor when the dais drops. Consultation with Lloyd and brave pronouncement of the syllables causes the throne to sink to your level again. The runed block appears to be solid.

I have an out of town visitor this weekend. I won't be able to make it Sunday. Liato is very insistant on taking Al to town ASAP. Liato is willing to draft magic items before we leave. He wants the clasp, ring, and gloves in that order.

Okay, if we can agree to a treasure split now, that will save a lot of time arguing. Here's my proposal:
All of the following people also get 1 potion each.
Frank: Red Shield Garvin: 2 cleric Scrolls Liato: Cloak Clasp Al: Mace Dell: Gloves, Ring Winthrop: Robe, Scroll Case Raven: Purple Plate, Purple Shield
Anyone have any dispute with this split? Note that this is the last time that being a "member" of the Blue Sun should be beneficial to anyone, so the Members get the spare items in order of seniority. (Al, Frank, and Liato have all been in the party longer, but Dell became an actual member of the company before them.)
Counterproposals welcome.

Fine with me.
As a note, if Liato gets Raven's amulet that he can no longer wear he'll get an extra 4th level spell.

Not fine with me, since I already have magical armor and a magical shield. I do not have a cool magical clasp, cool magical ring, or cool magical gloves. The lower level priest had regular plate and a magical shield, which I'll assume is +1. I'll also assume that the other priest's stuff is one step better, which means +1 plate and a +2 shield. If those assumptions are correct, then neither of those items are of much use to me. In other words, the shield and armor are probably helpful, at the very least as back-up. The clasp, ring or gloves could range from unusable to extremely helpful, so I'd probably rather pick those in a lottery. I'm fine with assigning the items to the NPCs and leaving the rest for the four of us to have a lottery with.

What's dell going to do with purple platemail?

What's dell going to do with purple platemail? He's going to sell it to the highest bidder. He's got two different plans: Plan A: If it's better than Raven's current platemail, then he's going to trade it to Raven for the pearl that only clerics can use. Then he'll trade that to Liato for the wand that only wizards can use. Then Raven will let Otto use his old platemail, and the party is balanced and happy. Plan B: If the armor is the same as Raven's current platemail, Dell will lie to Raven and say that it is better. After that it's pretty much the same as plan A.

Plus your old armor has a nasty scorch mark on it.
Then again, I could always offer it to Frank, and see what he has to trade for it.
