The cavern is oval in shape and contains a never-ending chariot race between flame and shadow. In the center of the arena there is a raised platform of basalt, 10 feet tall and home to a mummy-priest wrapped in pristine, white bandages. He sits enthroned on a seat of gold, his hollow eyes following the racers as they move across his field of vision. Six canopic jars once surrounded the throne, each holding the undead, disembodied brain of an acolyte. Three of which lie smashed to gross bits on the raceway.
The charioteers; one a shadow with shadow horses, the other a being of flame with horses of fire, continue to race.
After subduing the mummy, he surrenders the secrets of his magic floating golden pyramid in exchange for his un-life.
The pyramid creates a permanent shield effect and is also capable of firing rays of darkness and teleporting others. Each hit by a ray cuts the target’s strength in half for 1 hour unless they pass a saving throw. It operates only for chaotic clerics of 6th level or higher.
You further discover "his name is Veporth and he is a priest of Ingueas ... really more of a philosopher than a threat."
When queried about the race, Veporth says "the charioteers are fated to race for eternity in a dead heat. When one charioteer gets more than a length ahead of his rival, it is written that the end will come."

So we need the gold pyramid to teleport us out of here. If we take it from Veporth then Colby, Finn or Youssef will need to use teleport to bring the last person out. If not then we can have Veporth teleport us all to the same location. Vashalla is the only one in the party who can use the pyramid. I guess we could also bring Veporth with us as he is controlled by the Princess.
Next we need to back track and find Moro. Or have him come to us. Then we need to decide if we are going to help restore the princesses or continue the quest to retrieve Trommer.
Thoughts?

Overthrowing the Petty Deaths seems like a tall order, but freeing Trommer would be infinitely easier if we had the ruling monarch of the area on our side. Maybe just walking her back to Moro is a good middle path and will earn us additional information or other aid.

I agree. But what do you want to do about Veporth and the pyramid?

I'm ok with Veporth teleporting everyone to the surface using the pyramid and then Colby teleporting the two of them out with his own spell.
