Given that Friedrich is going to fight a throwing dagger specialist next time we meet, I was wondering how we would adjudicate strength bonus in regards to damage dealt for thrown weapons(not boulders or the like). I did a brief search through DF and found this: www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=42058&hilit=strength+bonus+thrownUA is pretty specific on p 18 that the "to hit" and "damage" bonus for weapon specilization for thrown weapons(aside from bows and crossbows) are +1/+2 respectively. UA P. 18: Other Missile Weapons: Users of other sorts of missile weapons gain a + 1 bonus “to hit” and a + 2 bonus on damage. Their number of attacks per round depends on the initial fire rate of the missile weapon
[/i] According to the thread, by the book, strength bonus to damage applies to ranged weapons if the weapon is custom made to allow for it. So I guess in theory this guy could walk into the arena with 15 custom made throwing daggers. I was told that a custom made axe, which would grant non-magical bonuses would cost roughly 3,000 GP. How much would a special made throwing dagger cost? Friedrich's fighting regardless and I definately don't think Venger is looking to put Friedrich in a fight where he can't win, but I think that it may be a good idea to have these questions answered before hand rather than at the table. It will also affect my strategy for the fight.

We apply the "to-hit" bonus for dexterity and the damage bonus for strength to thrown weapons.
Whenever Friedrich has thrown an axe he's received his damage adjustment for strength. Reading the passage you've quoted, I think we've mistakenly given him his double-specialization bonus as well. He should be +1/+2 with thrown axes.
A non-magical +1 weapon is a "weapon of quality" and has no bearing on bonuses applied. It's just a non-magical +1 weapon.

Friedrich can always back out of the fight and continue with the undercard if he's afraid dude is gonna put him in the hurt locker.
