Shockingly, we got a free wish from an Efreet that didn't work out as planned!
He teleported the whole group (including Ingrid, Finnious and our 2 zombies) to the cloud castle (ok, it's not quite a cloud city, but the star wars reference was too much to pass up) and then laughed evily and started nuking the place. Maybe we need to find a djinn to fight him somewhere up here?
Otherwise we leveled up and Colby read his Libram of Silver Magic and is now a 9th level sorcerer with an evil tongue. I'm happy to take recommendations on a new 4th level spell to scribe, which I can do given 4 hours to write. I'm leaning towards Wall of Ice.

Shouldn't you have written the spell while sitting around the volcano? Right now, I think our first priority is to alert the Storm Queen to her unwanted guests.
BTW, once Colby had his tongue back and could cast spells again, I think we should have gone back to the wreck. Colby could have used Polymorph Self to swim around the wreck as a small fish. Then transform into a nixie, fill a bag, transform back into a fish, swim back to the party. Repeating until everything is off the wreck. We could have also checked out the other wrecks. I am sure we will get a chance to go back.

Finn has the spell ink, so I couldn't have written anything until now.
Colby is certainly not swimming into shark infested waters as a small fish. Maybe as a midsized shark.

What's the plan? I recall that there's a castle in front of us, which we suspect is ruled by a storm giant queen. Should we assume friendliness and approach it?

My thought is that the Queen deserves to know that the evil Efreeti is loose in her realm. I am assume that the sooner we tell her, the less angry she is going to be. Which isn't to say she isn't going to be angry. And somehow the Rainbird is here, so getting on her good side is likely helpful for convincing the Rainbird to shed some tears for us.
I am a little confused as to what was preventing the Efreeti from coming here in the first place. If all he needed to do was grant someone's wish, he could have easily tricked Nigel or Mervis long ago to ask for the same thing we did.

I disagree with this premise: House Rules: Polymorph Self discussionI am a little confused as to what was preventing the Efreeti from coming here in the first place. All this and more to be revealed in the stunning conclusion to the Quest for the Rainbird!
