If we survive and are going to take some time off, we could use that to adjust the party size.
Here's a list of the CBS members.
Active: Dell - Mage/thief (Utility Spell) Wintrop - Mage (Offensive Spell) Raven - Fighter (Archer)
Indeterminate: Al - Fighter (Melee) Liato - Druid (Utility Spell) Frank - Fighter (Melee) Garvin - Cleric (Healer)
Inactive: Remo Rook Serrin Melor
If you include Frank, Liato, and Garvin and assume Al doesn't make it or quits. We have:
1 Tank (Frank) 2 Damage Dealers (Raven and Winthrop) 2 Support Classes (Dell and Liato) 1 Healer (Garvin)
I think that's a decent group. I'll focus more on Healing spells for combat situations than damage dealing spells.
I think we could use one more Tank. Hopefully Al will make it but if not, we could recruit a shield boy for Raven and work him up. Also, I should have a couple pets which will help with tanking.

Dell plans on hiring some help of his own. You know, take on an apprentice, hire a bodyguard... you know, cannon fodder. Dell's a big fan of cannon fodder.

So, will we offer membership to Frank and Garvin after this ordeal? After they see the lengths to which we go to revive Al, do you think they'll join?

Is Dell sufficiently non-good that "hiring a bodyguard" could mean charming someone and drafting them into servitude? Dell wouldn't do that. Being Chaotic Neutral, he values individual freedom above all else. This is why he wanted to release the medusa - she hadn't done anything to us, and being in prison sucks. If any of the orcs had survived, Dell would have given them some cash and told them to make a run for it or the party would kill them. Then he would have taken as much stuff as he could have, and claimed that the orcs ran off with it. This was the deal he made with Frank, who was going to carry the stolen goods. I mean, you've searched Dell's bags before, but do you want to offend Frank? (The answer is no) Besides, the charm spell fades, and they remember being charmed, and all the things you said and did. Having a person that you think is a close friend but really actually hates you because you manipulated their mind is... well, imagine what Phillip could have done to us if he had waited to turn on us until we were in the middle of battle. "Winthrop, you take 22 points of damage. You've just been hit in the back by two arrows." It's easier to hire an apprentice than to go through all that stuff. Then again, I'll be in Monmorg, so I can just buy slaves instead.

Already thinking about how to track down and destroy the slave trade. Excellent thinking Dell! We'll get our revenge on San yet! Hm, I do have two blank spell books I left in Momurg. Excellent idea Dell going after the slave traders. That will help clear our reputation as well and if we happen to come across Dredd along the way...all the better,

Because you value freedom above all else, right? As Winthrop correctly surmised, I would buy them only to interrogate them - find out where they were taken from, how they were captured, where they were held, all that sort of thing. Then I would give them the option of travelling with us and trying to destroy the slavers, or send them home. Of course, they would owe Dell whatever it cost to buy them and set them free... he has a very reasonable payment plan.

Is there any interest in tracking down our inactive members to bring them back into the group as NPCs? Keep in mind that in the majority of cases, we ditched them. Even if they haven't gained any levels, they all have a lot of promise.

We could use a ranger, especially if we're going to the Dreadwood to look for San. A cowardly, pie-stealing monk I don't think we need, and a low level wizard would be more of a burden than anything else because we'd have to stop and train them so often. Clerics are always welcome. An illusionist might be a handy thing to have around - they're very effective against other illusionists, if nothing else.

I like the idea of getting the Ranger back. We could use another bow specialist.

Well, assuming that Liato is able to scry in his Reflecting Pool and find our missing company members, we need to think about how we're going to approach them. I think that we should definitely encourage Remo, Rook and Serrin to rejoin and probably encourage Melar to rejoin. If they don't want to rejoin, we should remind them that the items they have are company property, and we would like them back. If they're obnoxious about it, we can offer them a bit of money in return.

I don't think the "company property" bit would work. Remo or Rook could say "well, I'm a member of the company, what new company property do you have that I can use?"
The best we can hope for is buying the items from them.

Rook conveniently left all his items in a trunk for the company.

Rook conveniently left all his items in a trunk for the company. Rook is a model company member when it comes to retirement. However, he'd be quite a good NPC.

If we ever get back to Keoland maybe we can find out what happened to our old friends. After we take care of San and the slavers...wait maybe we should pick them up along the way?
