Dell and his entourage have ventured south in search of dwarven ruins in the Hool Marshes. Dell was determined to keep his promise to Al at any cost. Going to far as to avoid a rumor of reecntly excavated tunnel that leads in to mountains. Max and Raven were feeling under the weather. So the party travel south to some podunk little town near the marshes. We did get so information about some Lizardmen in the swamp. Probably the splinter group for the Comapny's first adventure. After procuring a couple of skiffs (with "Compnay" funds) we venture into the swamp. prior to our departure Cedrus has spend some time Divining for a proper couse. He was able to come up with two possible sources of treasure so we followed his direction.
After a couple of days travel and feeding many hungry mosquitoes we actually found some ruins on a small hill. After a nasty little encounter with some undead at the entrance the company entered the the definatrly dwarven ruins. Al said that the loud voice that greeted us was some sort of archaic dwarvish. Cedrus did make some friends of the giant frogs that were there so we left them alone.
We couldn't resist the magically sealed door so Dell knocked it open and kept it so by jamming it with a knife. Once he had taken care of this he finally noticed the two dwarven specters that patiently waiting for him. The spoke some more of the dwarvish stuff which AL and Dell interpreted something like 'show humility and say the clans name and you mas pass' or some such thing. The suprising thing was that Dell did just that. He prostrated himself and spoke what we thought the clans name was. The specters didn't react so Dell then stood up and walked past. Seeing that Dell wasn't sucked dry both Winthrop and Al followed suit.
Beyond was the throne room with some desicrated corpses and one sitting on a throne. Just like a similar experience some of had on the ghost ship a ghostly shape started to form. I'm sure we would have greatly benefited from the experience Raven gained for his last such encounter but Dell did an admirable job. The gist is that there is some big bad ugly in the mines that needs to be killed and then we need tken the dwarven remains back to their homeland.
We also killed a Shambling Mound for good measure.
