The coins add up to roughly 7000 GP. 6000 if you only include the gold and platinum. According to the rules we are playing with does platinum weigh 5 times what gold weighs? If so there is no way we can carry it all. I suggest anything we cannot carry we drop down the 30' pit and then set the mechanism to stay shut. Weren't there some gems on the ogre magi? Are those included in the gems from the chalices?

Copper, Silver, and Electrum coin weigh as much as their gold piece worth. So 200 CP = 1 GP, 20 SP = 1 GP, 2 EP = 1 GP both in worth and weight. Platinum is equal to gold in weight but not in worth. 1 PP = 1 GP weight, but 5 GP worth. Of course, a gold piece is a gold piece.
I get 921 + 1327 + 450 + 592 + 61 = 3351 for the coinage weight and 4605 + 1327 + 450 + 591 + 60 = 7033 for the coinage value, rounding up in weight and down in value.
The gems found on the spell casting ogre appear to fit the chalices and have been included in the totals for them.
