I'll be out of town the weekend of the 31st. Our next game will be August 7th.
The following is the consolidated listing of treasure from the Slavers' and its distribution by the Company. Members in absentia with concerns should direct them to Dell.
Gross equity value of treasure recovered: 78,497 GP. Necessary expenses for travel and identification: 11,680 GP. Cedrus' training expenses paid from pre-division funds: 2,500 GP. Net equity value of treasure recovered: 64,317 GP.
The value of all items was divided 17 ways. These portions were agreed to be apportioned as follows: One share each to Raven, Winthrop, Dell, Cedrus, Diego, Pavel, Otto, Ironhand, Tom, Cash, Ben, Jerry, Nate, Dan, Addy. One share to the Company of the Blue Sun operations fund. One share to Al for use in his resurrection or to be sent to his grandmother.
Jasper and Maxillian, who were freed from bondage, were not apportioned shares.
Each share is worth 3,784 GP.
Lord Morgan's Men agree to take their share in jewels. This leaves the Company with the following non-magical, directly valuable items to be divided up into 3,784 GP shares:
jewelry 10 silver and opal bracelets valued at 100 GP each. 3 gold belts valued at 150 GP each. 1 silver and coral bracelet valued at 300 GP. 1 set of electrum bracers valued at 560 GP 1 electrum neckguard shaped like a hawk valued at 1400 GP. 1 silver neckchain valued at 200 GP. 1 gold earring valued at 75 GP. 1 gold and amethyst ring valued at 65 GP 1 mother of peral pin valued at 45 GP.
gems 4 red agates valued at 15 GP each. 1 banded agate valued at 10 GP. 1 Amethyst valued at 10 GP. 1 Jasper valued at 10 GP. 8 sapphires valued at 250 GP each. 1 ruby valued at 500 GP. 1 ruby valued at 2000 GP. 10 tourmalines valued 100 GP each. 6 aquamarines valued at 400 GP each.
coins 6,921 Pomarjian GP 3,010 Pomarjian PP
The magic items have not been divided. The Company has promised Diego, Pavel, and Lord Morgan's Men that they'll be considered in any dividing of the magic items. On that basis, Diego and Pavel are continuing to travel with you, by boat, to Gradsul.

Also for those that are wondering. Max is no longer poisoned. We bought a very nasty tasting concoction that cured him. Cedrus has been trained. We contrbuted 5,000 gp to help repatriate the free captives. Everyone is healed and we are on the boat to Gradsul to return Melba and claim our reward.
So we can also discuss where we are off to next.

We have 24 new undistributed magical items, and we have 16 people to distribute them to. Here's what I'm thinking:
Cedrus, Dell, Otto, Raven and Winthrop get three items each. Al, Diego and Pavel get two each. Ironhand, Cash, Tom, Ben, Nate, Dan, Jerry and Addy get one each. Maximillian gets emancipated, free training from Cedrus, and an offer to join us in our profitable fight against evil. If Jasper wants to tag along, he gets... he gets to carry heavy burdens, because he's into that. Al also gets raised from the dead, maybe.
That adds up to 29 magic items - this is 5 more than we've recovered, so those of us that have extra items can pass them on to others. This way, we can get rid of some of our weaker items and make sure that we hang on to the best stuff. For instance, Dell is willing to part with one of his magical daggers, Otto may be willing to part with his +1 longsword now that he's got a +2, Raven has two magic items that he's afraid to use, plus a bunch of potions. Al isn't using anything right now, so we can give out his potions.
The debts in the party, according to my recollection: Dell owes Otto a magic item. Otto owes Raven a magic item. Cedrus owes Winthrop a magic item (for the loss of the serpent-staff) Does Cedrus owe Raven for the shield, or is that a gift? Cedrus owes Dell 1140, Raven is owed ~1000 (which will come out of company funds) and Winthrop owes Chumley around 5000. The company still owes all of Lord Morgan's & the Saltmarsh men 340 each, because we only distributed 20 to each of them before. That's 2720. So out of the loot from the previous adventure, I'll subtract one star sapphire at 1000, three sapphires at 500 each, and 220 in Pomarj gold, since I still have them listed with the company assets.
Everyone please list the top five magic items you would like, in order of preference, so I can decide who gets what where.

These portions were agreed to be apportioned as follows: One share each to Raven, Winthrop, Dell, Cedrus, Diego, Pavel, Otto, Ironhand, Tom, Cash, Ben, Jerry, Nate, Dan, Addy. So does that mean Addy isn't being executed for sedition?

So does that mean Addy isn't being executed for sedition? He insists it was an accident, so we let him get off with some flogging. However, if I have any doubts about his loyalty, then Addy will have another accident - arranged by Pavel. Dell is going to hang on to the money for Addy, though, just to be sure he doesn't make a run for it.

1. Blue Cloak 2. Feather fan 3. Silver Potion 4. Wooden Wand 5. Gold Ring (I've done two identifies on it so I'm basically curious if it does anything)
I think the party should hold onto the studded leather with the protection from missiles. That would be very handy to have for a future party member or henchman

1. Ring of Fire Resistance 2. Ring of Water Walking 3. Ring of Elf vision 4. Feather Fan 5. Any of Potion of Speed, Potion of Giant Strength, Potion of Dragon control
I don't have any surplus magic items. The list of debts look correct to me.

Assuming the cloak is a cloak of protection, do its effects stack with enchanted armor or rings?

I am willing to trade my Gem of Pellor Power to Max for an item to be named later. He may be able to arrange to get charges added back to it thru his temple.
I can also toss in my potion of clairvoyance as an item to replace the silver potion with. That way it is something for the NPCs to get. Thus moving the wooden wand up to number three. If the swap is acceptable of course.

I want any of the enchanted weapons. Since no one is proficient in halberd and I'm willing to learn, it seems reasonable for me to take that one, but if it's +1 and the two handed sword is +2, I'd certainly prefer that. If I recall correctly, the +2 longsword was identified as being "minorly enchanted," so we need to further inquire into what we have. I'll obviously take the healing potion, the cold ring, or the cloak, other than that. If Winthrop takes the cloak, I'd be happy to grab his ring.
How many magic items to we need to donate to the pool? I have a sword, a shield, a "ring of non-detection" and a jade ring. I also have a "potion of greater healing, " but I'm not mean enough to give that up.

As far as "excess" magic items: Dell is giving up one of his dozens of magical daggers, Al is giving up his potion of fire resistance, Winthrop is giving up his potion of clairvoyance, and Raven can give up the love potion. Addy doesn't get a magic item, so that should be enough for everyone to get one.
We may want to adventure with these guys again, so it's to our benefit to make sure that they're well equipped. For example, giving Cash the magic 2-hander and Jerry the magic broadsword would mean tremendous front-line power against things that can't be hit with normal weapons. (Plus, giving your hirelings and henchmen magical items is a big boost to their morale rating.)
Are we going to want Pavel and Diego to join the company or not? They're useful, but not trustworthy. Diego is like the old Dell, willing to screw over the party if need be. If we don't want them to continue with us, we can drop their portion of the cut to one item.
So the cut for the PC's currently looks like this: Cedrus: Scroll (Resurrection & More), Scroll (Atonement) Dell: Short Sword, Studded Leather Armor. Maximillian: The sweet air of freedom Otto: Ring Fire resist, Ring Water Walk, Ring Infravision, Strength Potion Raven: Halberd +1, Arrow of slaying (something), Ring of Warmth Winthrop: Cloak of Prot +2, Windy Fan, Wand of Magic Missiles, Potion of Longer Life
This split assumes that Cedrus gives up a pick to Winthrop for losing the serpent staff, and Dell gives up a pick to Otto as per their previous deal. Any complaints with this split?

Are we assuming that the cloak is +2 and the weapons are +1? Were they identified as such, or are you just guessing? Because the +2 sword was definitely identified as being "minorly enchanted."

I think Diego should take a hike, but Pavel can stick around. Diego is Chaotic Neutral, which is bad news. Pavel is true neutral, and infinitely more helpful.

I still owe Raven something for the exchange of +1 and +2 longswords. Do you want the Strength Potion? If not I could just continue to owe you. Another option would be if I gave you full ownership of the strength bow and take the compound longbow. Are any of the other fighters proficient with longbow?
Is there a plan for the amulet and the unidentified magic ring?
In terms of the monetary split I would rather have gems and coins. Jewelry isn't really Otto's thing.

All the weapons identified at +1, the cloak as +2 (as powerful as Dell's Ring of Protection, which is +2). Because we're familiar with Raven's (now Otto's) sword and Cedrus's hammer, we know a +2 item when we identify it. And I remember the +2 sword was identified as "more powerful" because that's Raven traded Dell the +1 for it.
Otto gets priority for gems, because:
It's a shame we didn't get any furniture or tapestries.

All of the fighters reached level 4, so they all have spare proficiencies. Some will be able to double specialize. I'd accept the strength potion for the sword. I kind of like having the bows remain jointly owned. Since the specialization bonus are so obvious, I don't think there will be any fighting over them.

Ok. Shift the strength potion into the Raven's column.
Doh! We forgot to take the double specialization into account for the fighters. Assuming they were going to apply the extra proficiency to something they were already specialized in. That would have been a bunch of +3/+3 broad swords. Think of all of the near misses should have been hits.

So there was fighting? What happened?

Post by Dell on Jul 26, 2005 13:38:18 GMT -5
We encountered a flying dragon-like thing, being ridden by hobgoblins. They flew past a couple times shooting the "former captives" with arrows, until Winthrop managed to fly up and lightning bolt the creature. The two hobgoblins were killed, the creature flew away faster than Winthrop could catch it.
We assume that after that, the hobgoblin army lost interest in following us, because we never saw any trace of them again.
Then we encountered some skulls that leaped about on some kind of springy base. And they had claws. They leaped out and attacked us by surprise - we managed to kill them, but they took Max into negatives.
Then, a couple days later, this wierd thing came in the night and took Diego into negatives, then ran off before we could kill it.
The skull creatures had a lot of treasure, too.

Are we keeping the as yet unidentified gold ring? It radiates magic but we still haven't been able to determine any abilities after two identifies. Could it have an obscurment on it such that it blocks the identify spell? I would rather not give it up until we determine what it is or find out that it design to make us waste time identifying it.

So there was fighting? What happened? Actually I was refering to the figthing in the stockade. Though I guess most of them didn't make level 4 until we rested in the cave - at which point they were pretty much non-combatants. Anyway the DM should decide what proficiencies they take in case there is some fighting on the way back to Saltmarsh.

Are we keeping the as yet unidentified gold ring? The ring wasn't included in my count of magical items because I don't think it does anything. Feel free to keep it. The skull creatures had a lot of treasure, too. Is that on the list? It was included in the total fund distribution, yes. They were high value pieces of jewelry, appraised (by Raven) at 200, 800, 1800, 4000, 4000, 7000, and 8000 gp. Where it says "Lord Morgan's Men agree to take their share in jewels," those are (some of) the jewels they took.

Anyway the DM should decide what proficiencies they take in case there is some fighting on the way back to Saltmarsh. If they don't choose to double-specialize, they'll have to train to pick up a new proficiency. Cash and Tom aren't able to double specialize, so they'll have to train anyway. Cash is strong enough to use any bow we own, plus I kind of like the idea of him using the Executioners bow. Tom can learn whatever he likes.

Here's how the money loot gets split up. Check my math, because I'm very very lazy. All funds are in Pomarj currency.
Al: 3,784 gp. (He doesn't have to carry it, so who cares how heavy it is?)
Cedrus: Gold Belt (150), Silver Neckchain (200), Ruby (500), Aquamarine (400) Silver & Coral bracelet (300), sapphire (250), 396 pp, 4 gp.
Dell: 10 silver and opal bracelets (1000), gold earring (75), gold belt (150), sapphire (250), 461 pp, 4 gp.
Otto: Ruby (2000), 4 red agates (60), amethyst (10), banded agate (10), jasper (10), 338 pp, 4 gp.
Raven: 5 sapphires (1250), 3 tourmalines (300), 446 pp, 4 gp.
Winthrop: 7 tourmalines (700), gold and amethyst ring (65), mother of pearl pin (45), 2 aquamarine (800), sapphire (250) 384 pp, 4 gp.
Diego - Gold belt (150), 3 aquamarines (1200), 484 pp, 4 gp.
Pavel - Electrum Neckguard (1400), electrum bracers (560), 364 pp, 4 gp.
The company fund keeps what remains: 137 pp, 3,109 gp. It also contains another 160 in Pomarj currency and a sapphire worth 500 gp. There are also 6 silver holy symbols to Gruumsh (the orc god) that the clerics can take to their temples to have them destroyed. And a piece of quartz worth 10 gp.
Raven is owed some amount of gold, so he can take that from the company fund. Dell is owed some gold, so he can take that from Cedrus (That's -228 pp for Cedrus, +228 pp for Dell.) And I think that settles the money thing.
